Australian Terrier Dog Rides a Scooter

Rosie an 8 month old Australin terrier and her owner ride the Melbourne Streets on his motorized scooter.

Rosie was the runt of the litter and she is still tiny. She arrived at her new home when she was 6 weeks old. At 7 weeks the dog was riding the scooter.

Rosie and her owner live in an apartment in St Kilda and head to the park on the scooter every morning. When they get there and Rosie is given ‘the word’ she leaps off and races around the park. She also trots on the lead beside the scooter as it goes very slowly along the paths. Another ‘word’ and she jumps back to sit in ‘her place’.

After a good run they stop off for coffee and a drink of water before they head for home. When the weather’s right they travel further a field. Rosie’s owner says that having a dog has changed his life.

He bought the scooter so he could take her out and they go further and further a field. Rosie shows all the intelligence that Australian terriers are renowned. While I watched I could see she completely understood what was expected of her. She is very disciplined and it was a joy to watch her.
