Mini Schnauser enjoys time in the St Kilda Gardens

I was in the St Kilda Botanical Gardens this week and found this friendly Schnauzer. She said a cheerful hello to the dogs that walked past. She gave each one a couple of barks – barks of joy? It was a stunning day and I could just hear her saying “Hi! Great day to be out! Woof!! Woof!”

Kyla a Mini Schnauzer barking a greeting.

Kyla, a mini Schnauzer, had her first birthday two weeks ago. Her Mum is a Friend of the Botanical Gardens and is one of a group who strikes cuttings and propagates plants in the old fashioned glasshouse. They are good plants and cheap and the proceeds go to various projects that improve the enjoyment of the gardens.

Kyla had just been washed and groomed when I met her. This photo shows off her beautiful fluffy tail. To be in the Schnauzer fashion stakes the hair on her tail should be cut short but her family like the fluffy end and thinks it balancers her whiskery face.
The gardens were full of people. I like the Melbourne habit of a family picnic with all the generations participating. There were two large groups on Saturday as well as groups of friends with wine and food, a wedding party having photos taken and people walking, reading and watching the passersby.

These fish are in the Tropical House. It is a wonderful place to visit on a cold day.

Your photos are quite delightful. You catch the character of the dogs (or the fish, for that matter). Keep it up.
