Jack Russell X Pug and a Corgi X Staffordshire Terrier

Get to know Sassy’s boys.

Maxwell is a Jack Russell Pug cross commonly called JUG and Mateuz is a Corgi Staffy cross and called Corfy for short.

Sassy says these two beautiful dogs were intentionally cross bred. They are great looking guys.

She has trained her de-sexed male dogs to live by routine and to fit the routine into her life. She is the leader of the pack. They get up in the morning and head outdoors for fresh air and healthy exercise. She believes it is essential for them to work off their energy before she leaves them and heads off to work.

It is the same at the end of the day they exercise again and then in the weekends they all go for a longer time out doors. This is what she writes ….

“As for our lives here in town, well we live in Windsor just near the hustle and bustle of Chapel St and all its noises, smells and sounds. We have great parks nearby and many 4 legged mates. Most of the local traders know my dogs, and will happily let us eat or shop in their store with them in my company. I feel so lucky to have the accommodation that suits my dogs, two glorious personalities that bring me so much joy and a network of friends and dogs that we have made.”

They're great mates and not only do they sleep together but they eat from the same bowl. Now that is friendship.

Patience at the Supermarket

The Acland Street Safeway is a great place to meet dogs.

Prince the Staffordshire bull terrier is the owner’s pride and joy. He says he got him as a tiny pup, cared for him, trained him and now he has grown into this beautiful and gentle dog. Here he is giving a little yap and a smile of welcome.

I believe that brindle bull terriers are quite rare and I think the cute pup (from a previous posting) that was waiting outside another supermarket is a brindle Staffordshire bull terrier. Check out the posting and see what you think -CLICK HERE

This Australian terrier was eager for a tit-bit - a treat for waiting.


It's good to have a friend to wait with but it can still be an anxious time.

Dogs spending time at the supermarket

I had other ideas for this post but then I saw this little darling waiting eagerly beside the trolleys at my local super market. I’m sure he’s a young bull terrier. Is a brindle bull terrier rare? I’ve only seen black and brown.

When I came out he was still there but he had become more relaxed about the wait. He’s almost asleep on his feet.

If you’re not tied to the trolleys the next best thing is an advertising sign.

Stafforshire Bull Terriers having fun

These Staffordshire Bull Terriers didn’t belong to the swimmers but to a guy walking steadily away from me and urging his dogs to follow him. They are Harry and Iris. Like all well trained they did follow him but they kept leaping back into the sea and giving him cause to yell for them again.

Melbourne Temperatures continue to rise into the 30s and it has kept the local dogs at home.
I walk most mornings and it’s rare now to see dogs out walking too. It is also rare to see many people out and about. There’s the occasional jogger, a few walkers but the bikers peddling furiously along Beach Road.

It’s good to see people thinking about their dogs and not subjecting them to this hot weather.

Of course they may be looking after themselves. It gets warm early in the morning and it was quite warm when these Staffys were the only dogs on the beach.

Staffordshire Terriers are popular here. This isn’t the case in my home town. I would very rarely see one there.

In Melbourne an old colleague owned a black one called Jock, a good name for those muscular broad dogs. Jock would occasionally came to the office and run and skidded about on the slippery floor. I don’t think I ever saw him walking.

Harry and Iris looked as energetic as Jock and appeared to love life as much as he did. The breed can be great fun.

Staffordshire Bull Terriers are said to make good pets and are reliable with children. It is also said that they can take an instant dislike to another dog and have a go at it. Not what you want on your friendly dog beach so they need to be socialized very early.
