This beautiful black curly-haired retriever is backing St Kilda to win Saturday's Grand Final. He is outside Blights Shoe Repair and getting many pats from other supporters - there are a lot of St Kilda supporters on Glen Huntly Road.

Million Paws Walk- RSPCA -Albert Park Lake - 2010
These photos are from the RSPCA Million Paws Walk which was held on a sunny day in May. Albert Park Lake sparkled as about a million paws and feet walked the distance.
I have been neglecting this blog lately. It's a time factor rather than wanting to leave The Dogs. I've loved meeting so many Melbourne dogs and there has been some great dog. However it is time to move on.
I am going to concentrate on my new blog http://www.melbourneplaces.com/. It is a fun and exciting blog to work on and it would be great if you visited me there. The blog is about my love for Melbourne - my adopted city. Melbourne has become my home. The city welcomed me with open arms - it has been a lucky city for me and I hope my blog http://www.melbourneplaces.com/ introduces you to its charms.
Thank you all for visiting my blog over the years. I hope you have enjoyed the variety, quirkiness and the uniqueness of dogs who make Melbourne their home. I have enjoyed your comments and getting to know some of your dogs and of course you. My love and best wishes to all of you - dogs and people.

Shiatzu waiting at the loading bay Bunnings
I have had time out from this blog but I hope I am on board again with this cutie. She looks like a Shiatzu and is waiting at the Bunnings' loading bay. I don't think you would say she was waiting patiently. She was looking everywhere with her bright eyes darting about showing great curiosity in everything around her.
She wasn't tied in and I felt her liveliness may cause her to jump out. After I took the photos she was still waiting but when I came out the vehicle and dog had gone. She is obviously full of life and intelligent enough to know that getting out of the car in the busy yard at Bunntings would not be a sensible thing to do.

Working Dogs who help disabled people -
\
These dogs called A.W.A.R.E Dogs and were out raising awareness and collecting money for the Aware Dogs of Australia.
These are dogs that assist people with a handicap. We all know about seeing eye dogs for the blind but these dogs are not so well known. They assist in so many ways; they can pick up items that are dropped and bring the telephone when it rings. The different ways they help depends on the special needs of the person they are trained to assist. You can learn more about them at the A.W.A.R.E. web site.
